In 2012 Olympia Triumph launched an electric version of our established windup telescopic pole to meet new operational requirements for a reduced deployment time, more operator control along with a manual override system. We have now launched version two!
The new MK 2 electric pole has many advantages over the manual windup system as it provides a quicker and more controlled way to deploy an Olympia Triumph hook and ladder to a maritime or urban target. More accuracy can be achieved as the user only has to stabilise the pole and operate the electric control as opposed to physically extending the pole and placing the hook. The three way rocker switch allows the user to extend and lower the pole at the push of a button. The movement is very precise offering superior control when locating the hook to the target. If the rocker switch is released the pole will hold its position until the user re‐engages the switch, allowing further extension or retraction. The MK 2 unit is rated to IP68 allowing the pole to be submerged to depth of 15m for up to two hours and remain operational.
The electric control can be easily operated with gloves on and in the event of a problem the user can activate the folding handle to allow full manual control of the pole. This allows further extension and retraction in a manual mode by bypassing the motor. The pole can quickly be converted back to electric mode at any time by following 4 simple steps. Replacing the battery has been made as simple as possible to allow change over to happen during the mission if required.
